I love Lego’s Asian culture based sets so Beijing Postcard was an easy purchase for me. The set has quite a few pieces for what looks like a relatively simple build. I found myself having a lot of fun putting this one together with some cool techniques to get in a lot of detail at such a small scale.
As a bonus, it pairs very well with the Great Wall architecture set (see photo’s attached). Speaking of which, please Lego give us some more architecture sets based on ancient and modern Asian architectural wonders. The Colosseum and Great Pyramid showed there is still demand for big ancient architecture sets. How about the Forbidden City?
Just as a side note, there has been some controversy over the “missing” flag. The set was originally teased with the flag, but sadly this needed to be removed due to Chinese laws preventing the use of the flag in commercial products. Good on Lego for respecting local laws.
